Plant 60,000 trees, Empower 4 regions, Transform thousands of lives by 2026
In Partnership Between Transparency and Climate Action (TRACA) and Mikoko Development Foundation (MDF)
Transform Communities. Restore Nature. Build a Climate-Resilient Future.
The Green Mission Pilot Project is an ambitious and inclusive initiative implemented by the Mikoko Development Foundation (MDF), in collaboration with Transparency and Climate Action (TRACA). Aligned with international ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) benchmarks, the project targets the planting of over 40,000 inland trees across 30 educational and community sites in Arusha, Dar es Salaam, and Kibaha, while restoring 20,000 mangroves across 9 coastal zones in Kibiti, Pangani, and Mtwara.
Anchored in MDF’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, this pilot integrates practical conservation work with youth-led STREAMS (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, Math & Sports) education, agroecology, and financial-digital literacy. It serves as a model for sustainable climate action, community empowerment, and education reform. Strategic corporate partnerships ensure measurable impact, high CSR visibility, and shared responsibility in shaping Tanzania’s green economy.
By May 2026, the project will:
